FREESTYLE FRIDAY!

I know, I know.  It's been a long time since I have updated this blog, let alone do a Freestyle Friday. But believe me, my life has been pretty hectic the past few months.  Another story, another time.

But here we go...  Below is a picture to prompt mine and your imagination.  At first glance, it nudged my creative spirit.  Let's see what it does to your imagination.  You can continue with my story below or create one of your own.

It was at that moment, I knew I was different.  From my friends and even my family.  I would know if any of them was keeping a secret this monumental.

It started as a tingling in my fingertips turning into numbness.  I first thought it was the beginning of another anxiety attack.  I had those a lot, but the funny thing was, I never got anxious or nervous.  An even more curious attribute to the anxiety attacks was I had them when my joy and happiness were at their peaks.

However, the tingle in my fingertips felt completely foreign, compared to the other times.  I closed my eyes, breathing in calm breaths which normally took care of the anxiety attacks.  No such luck, it only made it stronger.  It shot through my palms and up my arms.  The numbness turned to a fire.  Not the unpleasant kind.  More like the sort that you get when you are wrapped up in a fuzzy blanket that just came out of the dryer or sitting in front of a warm fireplace on a cold winters night.  Maybe even the kind that you feel when you first dip into a hot tub.

As I slowly opened my eyes, I saw the lights.  Not just any ordinary lights, sparks swirled around my palms in every color imaginable.  I was mesmerized at the sight.  It lit up the darkness of the room I was sitting in.  Good thing I was alone.  How could I explain what was happening when I didn't even know myself?  Especially to...him!

OK peeps, here is where you come in.  Continue on with the story above or create one out of your own imagination.  Either way...HAVE FUN!!!

Freestyle Friday! Happy New Year!

Freestyle Friday!

It’s that time again, Friday.  The very first Friday of 2015 actually.  Let's start the New Year with a fresh slate, a blank page for new beginnings.
So to get creative juices flowing, we are doing a New Year Freestyle Friday.  If you are new to Freestyle Fridays, I start with either a picture, sentence or group of sentences, then continue with the beginnings of a story.  This is where you come in and either continue with my story or begin one of your own.  You don’t have to be a writer to do this, just someone who wants to have some creative fun!

This is not how I wanted to start the New Year.  Sitting alone, in a hotel room, starving… with a gun in my hand.

My Story

I told him I couldn’t do it.  Just causing anyone to hurt was against my nature.  Why did it come down to this?  Did he really think I could get past the inevitable consequences of my actions?  What would my parents think?  Of course, they would never know, since they were hundreds of miles away.  But that didn’t stop me from caring about their reaction.
I just didn’t understand why it had to come to this?

Ok, my peeps.  Take it from there, or start a new one.  Don’t be shy, I’d love to hear from you!

 Freestyle Friday!

So I have this idea...  On FaceBook, people do Throwback Thursday, right?  I'd like to start Freestyle Friday.  Here's how it works: I'll choose a sentence, group of sentences or picture and write a short story based on what I've chosen.  It will be a few paragraphs or less each time.
Here's where you come in.  If you are a writer, a wanna-be writer or just want to try something fun, you can make your own short story up based on the sentence(s) or picture and post it in the comments.  OR if you want to continue with my story, that's completely fine too.
Either way, let's have some fun and get the weekend started!

Today, let's start with this picture!  (I choose random pictures on the internet, mainly through Pinterest)

It was exactly 10 years ago on this very day, her life changed in an instant.  Just looking at the house made her flinch.  The beauty it once was, hid behind the vines and dirt covering.  But somehow, on that day, the beauty turned to ashes before her eyes.  How could life continue to move on after what happened?

Abigail hesitantly stepped closer to the abandoned house.  Many of her childhood years were spent roaming the halls and exploring the hidden passages.  Her grandparents invited her family to stay with them every holiday, summer and long weekend.  Along with her cousins family.  Until that day.

Her cousin, Jeremiah, was only one year older than her but he thought it was more like ten years.  He treated her like his child instead of his cousin.  Always telling her and her little brother what to do.  He thought he was so brave, doing stupid things like jumping from the second story window to the ground.  He said it was to show how strong he was compared to them.

He wasn't strong that day.  His real age shone through his fear.  Nine years old was too young to endure the pain.  It was considered an accident but for the last ten years, Abigail questioned if it was planned.

Ok readers, should I continue or do you want to have the honors?
